Ascension Financial Assistance: Free and Reduced-Cost Care

Ascension is one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the United States, operating hospitals in 19 states. Under IRS 501(r), Ascension is legally required to offer financial assistance to qualifying patients. Their program provides free care for uninsured and underinsured patients with income at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level.
